Founder, FundsforWriters
“Write daily, and go to sleep with a scene working in your head. By making the writing second nature through daily use, you instill a deeply embedded habit and greatly improve the evolution of your talent.”
Our author-in-residence is C. Hope Clark! This is an incredible opportunity to meet and talk in an intimate and casual setting with this award-winning novelist and founder of the celebrated FundsforWriters. Hope will be with us for the entire retreat!
Hope writes mysteries from the banks of Lake Murray in central South Carolina. Formerly a director and admin investigator with a federal agency, she left the day job to write her stories, the concept of which originated with a real-life bribery investigation. She's released 15 novels, the best known being The Edisto Island Mysteries. For two of her novels, she won the Silver Falchion Award from Killer Nashville, a conference and competition famous for recognizing the genre. When she isn't penning mysteries, Hope is managing FundsforWriters.com, selected by Writer's Digest for its 101 Best Websites for Writers for 21 years. Her helpful weekly newsletter reaches 25,000 readers each week. Her freelance material has been seen in Writer's Digest, Writer's Market, The Writer, SC Wildlife Magazine, Chapin Neighbors Magazine, TURF Magazine, and many more, and she has taught various aspects of writing for Writer's University as well as numerous writers' groups and conferences. In other words, Hope loves her words.
Come join Hope for the retreat—again, she'll be with us all week long!
